Gifts in support of Faculty Development funds are essential to our School's goal of attracting and retaining the best independent school faculty in the nation. Faculty Development funds provide ongoing professional growth and renewal opportunities for MICDS faculty. Believing that faculty is our greatest asset, MICDS has made a major commitment to their professional development.
A Director of Faculty Development works with each teacher to develop a personal growth plan. Enrichment funds give faculty members the opportunity to take courses or attend summer workshops, conferences and seminars to sharpen their teaching styles and enhance their curriculum.
As a donor of an endowed fund, you will receive an annual report that states the size of your fund, the revenue it has generated and, most importantly, the ways that your fund has impacted teaching and learning at MICDS.

MICDS recognizes that a multi-talented and broadly diverse population contributes to the education of all students and to the spirit and climate of our School community. Our School is committed to cultural, ethnic and economic diversity and is dedicated to providing a quality education to all qualified students regardless of family financial circumstances. In support of this, a substantial need-based financial aid program is essential to provide assistance to those families and students whose financial resources cannot meet all tuition costs.

MICDS is committed to weaving technology into the very fabric of the academic program so that it becomes a tool used each day. Students of every age – beginning at four – and faculty in every classroom use technology to enhance learning. MICDS currently has a 4:1 student/computer ratio with two computer labs in the Upper and Middle Schools and one in the Lower School.
Upper School classrooms are now equipped with video projectors that can display images from the teacher's computer or a VCR. Middle School English classrooms are outfitted with wireless notebooks that enable students to work in teams with more flexibility. First grade classrooms feature banks of new iMac computers, and our School's intranet website allows students and teachers to exchange course information and showcase their work.
In order for our School to keep pace with technological advancements, gifts to the Technology Fund are an ongoing need.

The mission of MICDS is to prepare young people not only for higher learning but also to live lives of purpose and service, to stand for what is good and right, and to embrace the world's people with compassion. Community service at MICDS is taking on a richer, deeper meaning. It is a concept known as service learning, which involves longer, more indepth outreach efforts that tie into what students are doing in the classroom.
